Our Story
Our story began around 30 years ago, when our founder, Miles Podmore, arrived in Singapore and established Eye to Eye Communications, a separate company focused on additive manufacturing equipment. Eye to Eye Communications brought international technologies to Singapore and grew to have offices in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, with earlier operations in Vietnam and Thailand.
In 2016, Miles founded Medairum Pte Ltd, a new and separate company, to explore the potential of additive manufacturing in healthcare and build local manufacturing capabilities in Singapore.
Over the past decade, Medairum has worked with public institutions and private clinics to bring their ideas to life, from developing medical devices for market to manufacturing orthoses locally. Collaboration has been central to our approach, combining technical expertise with an understanding of clinical needs.
In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted daily life and global supply chains, Eye to Eye Communications was contracted by the Singapore government to supply five million COVID-19 testing swabs. Medairum carried out the manufacturing in its own cleanroom, running around the clock and making up to 30,000 swabs a day.
Today, Medairum continues to build on that experience, manufacturing custom orthotics at our Ang Mo Kio facility in Singapore for podiatrists and clinics, a business we started in 2024.
