Our Story
Our story began around 30 years ago, when our founder, Miles Podmore, arrived in Singapore and established Eye to Eye Communications. With a focus on additive manufacturing equipment, the company brought international technologies to Singapore and grew into a leading distributor in Southeast Asia, with offices in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, and earlier operations in Vietnam and Thailand.
In 2016, Miles founded Medairum to explore the potential of additive manufacturing in healthcare and build local manufacturing capabilities in Singapore.
Over the past decade, Medairum has worked with public institutions and private clinics to bring their ideas to life, from developing medical devices for market to manufacturing orthoses locally. Collaboration has been central to our approach, combining technical expertise with an understanding of clinical needs.
In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted daily life and global supply chains, Medairum was contracted by the Singapore government to manufacture five million COVID-19 testing swabs. Our team operated a cleanroom around the clock to help meet the urgent demand for testing supplies, manufacturing up to 30,000 covid swabs a day.
Today, we continue to build on that experience, expanding our work in orthotics and prosthetics to serve clinicians and patients in Singapore and across the region.
